How to contribute Essays

VG encourages community dialogue. To that end we host several sorts of essays, broadly categorized into Reviews, Critiques, and Interpretations. We encourage submissions of 750-2500 words. Visit the Essays section to see examples of work that we have published.

Critiques: VGmight consider essays of theoretical, pedagogical, or historical aspects of some of the following topics

  • 'Minority' Identity
  • Representation
  • Authorship
  • The role of Technology, in particular the internet, in literary education
  • Audience reception
  • Textuality and visual culture, sound images, and digitality.
  • 'Literary performance' and other expressions such as performance art or oral narrative
  • The role of the internet in literary research

Reviews: VGmight consider reviews of individual books, films, exhibitions, performances, etc.

Interpretation: VGis interested in analysis of particular works by authors or artists.
